Paris Beauty: CANNES Film Festival

By Jackie Celestin-Andre

The CANNES Film Festival (which I dream of going to) took place May 14th to 25th in Cannes, France. In it’s 67th edition, Cannes hasn’t gained a wrinkle (no pun intended). The Festival recreates itself not only by the fabulous, fresh, provocative, heart rendering directors, actors, stories and visual interpretations of events; it continues to be THE venue in Europe that radiates BEAUTY and GLAMOUR. And 2014 was no exception. The festival’s official makeup artist, for the past 17 years is L’Oréal Paris. And the Ambassadresses came out in all their beauty to honor the brand with a new make up range L’OR LUMIÈRE specially created for Cannes.

Fun Fact - the L’Oréal Paris team of Makeup Designers used:

2200 lipsticks, 800 liners, 1000 eye shadows, 700 nail polishes, 800 mascaras, 700 khols, and 2000 foundations!

You may know some of the most popular L’Oréal ambassadresses: Jennifer Lopez, Andie MacDowell, Doutzen Kroes, Eva Longoria, or Lea Michelle; but you may not know Tais Araujo, a Brazilian actress and a brand ambassadress in Brazil. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Tais is stated as being the first Black Brazilian actress to be a protagonist in a Brazilian telenovela. She is often referred to as Brazil’s Halle Berry.

Tais made her montée de marches, her red carpet walk, an unforgettable one--from the make-up, to her dress, to her hair bun.

Zooming in on the makeup, Tais was all about glam with beautifully smoky brown eyes and raspberry rose tinted lips. To get the lips, try Color Riche Extraordinaire 401 Fuchsia Drama, a color that’s trending in Europe. To emulate her brows, use a foolproof pencil & gel duo. A defined brow shapes and frames the eye.

What do you think of Tais’ look? Will you try it for summer?
