'The OPI DIY Mani You ‘Knead’ to Try Right Away

By Christene Carr

OPI’s ‘I Knead Sour Dough’ was included in our January “Beautifully Delicious” Box curated by Chef Roblé. ‘I Knead Sour Dough’ is a toasty brown nail polish that is a perfect alternative to the basic nude manicure. Up close it has just a tiny hint of purple/pink iridescence, so we amped it up a little more with a lavender and black leopard inspired accent nail.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Base Coat/Top Coat

  • Cuticle Oil

  • Nail File

  • Cuticle Stick

  • Cotton

  • Nail Polish Remover

  • Black Nail Polish

  • Lavender (or off white) Nail Polish

Step 1
Clean, shape and dry nails
Step 2
Apply your favorite base coat
Step 3
Apply two thin coats of OPI’s ‘I Knead Sour Dough’ and clean up cuticle areas, if necessary (two thin coats will dry faster than one heavy coat)
Step 4
Use your lavender shade to make imperfect dots all over your accent nail
Step 5
Carefully line the outside of two opposite sides of your lavender dots, being careful not to completely encircle the dots
Step 6
Wait two to three minutes until polish is almost dry and apply topcoat to all nails
Step 7
Clean up cuticles and apply cuticle oil to all nails, then allow polish to dry completely

Tip: To extend the life of your manicure, add a second layer of top coat two to three days after your manicure.
