We spoke with the company’s Founder, Milain David about his concept of providing healthier skincare products for a market that has been underserved for sometime.
The brand truly got its start about two years ago during a trip to the Congo in the heart of Africa. There, we noticed the widespread use of skin lightening products by misguided consumers who had no information whatsoever about their harmful effects. As a matter of fact, they feature a high dosage of hydroquinone, a product said to be carcinogenic by the FDA. So, we thought it’d be great to promote products that would encourage people to embrace their natural skin tone. Subsequently, when we came back to the U.S with that awareness in mind, we started to pay more attention to the skincare industry and realized that there was a serious lack of solutions geared towards consumers of color. This was later confirmed through extensive market research. That’s when we decided to dive in and embark on the Eben journey.
Our body lotion is a very luxurious moisturizer rich in vitamin E, for its antioxidant benefits along with Aloe Vera, which is excellent to heal all sorts of topical ailments from psoriasis to sunburns. The lotion also leverages the powerful properties of jojoba oil, which is a very effective emollient and moisturizer. Its advanced formulation is particularly suited to combat dryness and dehydration while assuring long lasting moisture. The calming scent of lavender procures an enchanting and relaxing sensation while the subtle combination of essential oils such as jojoba and olive oil provides protection against UV radiation and effectiveness in lowering the metabolism rate of the skin cells. It will do wonders for your skin.
Currently, we sell three products and they are meant to be used together as part of an after shower morning and night routine. Step one consists in removing impurities from your face by using our facial toner, step two consists in using our non-greasy facial cream, then finally step three consists of moisturizing your entire body with our deep moisture body lotion.
The body lotion is suitable for all skin types, but it is particularly effective at rejuvenating and nourishing dry skin.
We are working on expanding our line to make our offering more complete. We are adding a cleanser, serum, shower gel and an exfoliator. We hope to roll these out in 2017.
