How did Charbon Plus get its start?
We created Charbon Plus because when my sister and I moved to the USA from Cameroon, Africa, we could not find natural skincare solutions that work for our dark skin. While in college we researched skincare products and realized that only 5% of all skincare products are natural and even less are formulated to meet the specific needs of Black and Brown skin. We combined our background in health sciences and our African culture to create Charbon Plus. Our mission is to promote self-love through self-care.
What does Charbon Plus mean?
Charbon means Charcoal in French, which is our 1st language in Cameroon, Africa where we are from. Organic African Charcoal is known for its legendary multi-purpose healing powers. And the 1st color that comes to mind when someone says Charcoal is the color Black, which represents dark skin tones. Charbon Plus means to enhance Black love and Black beauty.
What inspired you to create a coconut charcoal mask?
After personally conducting hundreds of customer interviews to thoroughly understand the specific needs of Black and Brown skin, the main ingredients that always came up were Coconut and Charcoal. So, we dedicated over 2 years of research to harness the healing power of Coconut Shell Charcoal (mixed with volcanic Cameroon ions) to create Le Masque Coco Secret Formula.

In addition to the Organic Coconut Shell Charcoal and Volcanic Mount Cameroon ions, we also include Chamomile oil.
