Discover Plant-Based PMS & Period Supplements

Are you tired of painful periods or excess bloating? Look no further, we have something for your next cycle to help eliminate the bloating, cramps, and mood swings that interfere with your daily activities during your period. We are happy to introduce you to Semaine Health and their hero product, PMS & Period Support in the October Box. Made with clinically studied plant extracts and minerals to support your wellness needs that week we’d rather stay home in bed. Find out more about how twin sisters, Lauren Lee and Catherine Lee, created this natural formulation to address their painful periods and how these support supplements can help you too.

How did Semaine get its start?

We (Lar and Cath), have suffered from painful periods and hormonal issues for decades before being diagnosed with endometriosis. After years of painful periods, surgeries and over-the-counter pain meds, we were determined to find an all-natural solution to help with our period pain. When we couldn’t find anything on the market, Lauren’s husband, a research scientist, formulated a supplement with nine plant-based ingredients. We were both skeptical at first, but immediately noticed a huge decrease in our bloating and period pain.

What inspired you to create PMS & Period Support Capsules?

We initially created the product for ourselves, but then realized we could help other people who experienced painful periods. And considering that 80% of menstruators will experience painful periods in their lifetime – that’s a lot of people we can help!

What are PMS & Period Support Capsules for?

You can think of PMS & Period Support like an all-natural Midol. The ingredients in each capsule are plant-based, vegan and are meant to be taken the week of your period. For most of us, we experience period pain because of increased inflammation during our cycle. All nine ingredients in our capsules help reduce inflammation and are clinically proven to help with period pain.

What are the key ingredients in PMS & Period Support Capsules?

There are nine ingredients in our capsules. All of them are listed on our website because we want to be as transparent as possible when it comes to our ingredients and their quality. Some of them you’ve probably heard of like curcumin (the active ingredient in turmeric), magnesium, ashwagandha, non-caffeinated green tea extract and vitamin D3. Other ingredients like quercetin, resveratrol, boswellia and silymarin all help with inflammation. The ingredients are the highest quality on the market and easily absorbed by your body, so you don’t have to take them with food and you can be assured that you’re getting the most out of each capsule.

What are the benefits of these key ingredients?

Every ingredient helps lower inflammation, which reduces cramping and bloating, but there are added benefits as well. For example, silymarin has also been shown to help reduce stress and improve liver function. Resveratrol is the antioxidant that you find in red wine and dark chocolate and helps your body deal with oxidative stress. And my favorite, Boswellia, which is also known as frankincense, can help soothe your intestines and help with headaches.

How soon will women feel a difference after taking PMS & Period Support Capsules?

This differs with everyone, but most of our customers feel a difference within the first day of taking Semaine PMS & Period Support. For others it might require using it for two menstrual cycles before really feeling a difference. Also, common stressors like a high inflammatory diet or if you’ve had a particularly stressful month at work can increase the severity of PMS symptoms and make it harder to experience immediate results with PMS & Period Support.

Are these capsules for all women?

Yes – and more! Because there isn’t anything in the capsules that directly impact your hormones. Anyone can take Semaine PMS & Period Support. Men, women, non-binary, people on birth control or with an IUD, people not on birth control, and etc. can take these capsules. We market Semaine specifically for period pain because there aren’t enough options out there for people who experience discomfort on their periods.

Will PMS & Period Support Capsules interfere with other medications or supplements?

The short answer is, PMS & Period Support shouldn’t interfere with other medication or supplements. We do suggest that if you’re taking vitamin D3 daily, not to take it while you’re taking PMS & Period Support because it’s the only ingredient you can have too much of. If you’re concerned, you can show our ingredients page to your pharmacist or doctor.

Should women speak with their GYNs before taking?

If you have concerns about starting a new supplement, definitely talk with your OBGYN or primary care physician.

How about women who are in perimenopause?

Women who are in perimenopause who are experiencing PMS symptoms like cramps, heavy flow and moodiness can take Semaine PMS & Period Support.

When is the best time to take the PMS & Period Support Capsules?

If you know when your period is going to start, we recommend you start taking the capsules one day before your period. If you don’t know exactly when your period is going to start, just begin as soon as you experience PMS symptoms or start to bleed. Start with two capsules in the morning and two capsules at night. If your pain is bad, you can take up to two capsules four times a day.

What other tips can you suggest to help with PMS?

I hate to say this, but diet and stress are huge factors when it comes to PMS. Highly processed, sugar-filled foods can make your PMS a lot worse. That’s not to say that you have to eat nothing but leafy greens every day of the month, but I encourage everyone to experiment by increasing the amount of veggies you eat – especially before your period. I tend to crave French fries about a week before my period, but I also find that if I don’t eat fries (or other fried food), my PMS isn’t as bad. It’s a cruel joke that we crave what isn’t good for us on our periods! And it’s different for everyone. So, see what works for you. Same goes with de-stressing techniques. Whether that’s meditation, breathwork, going for walks or journaling, any type of slowing down and focusing on the present moment helps with pain.

What’s next for Semaine?

This is such an exciting question because we’re launching our next product this month! Make sure to sign up for our newsletter and SMS because we’ll be announcing the product mid-October. We’ve created this product in direct response from our customers. They were basically like, “Ok, you’ve helped me with my periods, now I need hormonal help for the rest of my cycle.” So, we’ve got you! Stay tuned!

Each of our subscribers who get the October Box will receive PMS & Period Support Capsules. What is the one thing you want people to know?

The most important thing to know is that period pain is very common, but it is NOT normal. Many people suffer from period pain and assume that’s it’s just part of life. It’s not. Your hormonal health reflects your overall health. Take it seriously and take care of yourself. Period pain is not something you have to fight through and we’re here to help!
