Lauren Craig: InAWordFab.com

At COCOTIQUE, we believe in the spirit of beauty through confidence, grace and optimism. In our COCOBlogger series, we feature women who exude those things through their personal brands, and have them share their favorite beauty and fashion secrets. In this post we present Lauren Craig, Esq.: Writer, Inawordfab.

In 3-5 sentences, who are you and what is your profession?

My name is Lauren Craig, Esq., also known as Inawordfab. I am an attorney, writer, on-air personality, fashion correspondent and host. My life is designed to inspire others to be the artist of their own lives, to love people and to start with themselves.

What is your claim to blogging fame?

I launched inawordfab.com in 2007 as a fashion and lifestyle blog. It quickly became a go-to Internet destination for irreverent commentary on celebrity fashion, breaking trend news, industry interviews and pictures from the most exclusive parties and events in New York City. Since then, I have contributed to various outlets including MTVNews.com and Bossip.com. I’m very excited to be re-launching inawordfab.com this coming June. It will definitely have a blog component!

What 3 products are in your ultimate beauty arsenal and why?

Just three? Besides lotion and lip balm, I must have my Cover Girl Queen Collection Bronzers…they are awesome for contouring which I’ve recently become obsessed with. For a great matte red lip, I’m a big fan of "Box" by Illamasqua; it’s my instant pick me up when my face needs a pop. Lastly, strip lashes of course! The Eylure Naturalites line is inexpensive and easy to practice with if you aren’t used to putting them on.

If you had 2 hours to pick out an outfit from head to toe, where would you shop and why?

Century 21, Morristown! I’ve bought everything from winter coats to bathing suits there. They always carry the trendy pieces I see one day in a magazine and have to have in my closet the next. I especially love the accessories including handbags, jewelry and shoes. Heaven!

Who is your fashion icon, and why?

I am hugely inspired by vintage fashion, so Dita von Teese is perfection to me. There’s more to it than what she has on (or doesn’t have on). It’s how her entire look always combines romance with cheekiness and sex appeal with innocence. She’s like a glamorous conundrum. Plus I think I may have been a burlesque dancer in a former life.

Which beauty/fashion trends are you most looking forward to for spring?

I am so in love with this topknot moment that is happening currently. Whether it’s messy or perfectly coifed, from ombre to turquoise blue, I just think it’s instant chic! I’ve worn mine to the office, on a date, and out at night and it’s always appropriate. Plus it’s like a facelift! In terms of fashion, this Spring I will be putting down my go to black and white (which I’ve been faithful to since fall) and embracing all of the gorgeous florals. We’re not talking your granny’s florals; these are larger than life and digitized print versions. Try it out in a fun pant, since printed pants will also be everywhere.
