We had the chance to chat with Kiyah about what it was like filming the show with her girlfriends, find out her favorite hairstyle for a girls night out in the city, and of course, get the hair products that she can’t live without.
When did you first know you wanted to be a hairstylist?
I started doing hair at the early age of 14, sneaking girls in after school and getting little $5 -20 bucks payments here and there.
Tell us about your personal hair routine. Do you have a set regimen that's tried and true, or do you like to change it up a lot?
I am very low maintenance with my own hair. I wear weave, hair pieces, etc, especially since I work out a lot; I need easy breezy hair (a.k.a. instant hair!! Lol).
What's your favorite fabulous hairstyle for a night out in the city with the girls?
I have been wearing that Beyoncé like bob these days, so I use a wand curling iron and keep it really easy with a loose wave look; or sometimes I straighten it for a speakeasy look.
Speaking of girlfriends, what was it like filming Love in the City with some of your best friends?
It was so easy! I couldn't have asked for a better situation, filming with my girlfriends everyday!! How hard is that?!
What's the one piece of hair care advice you give to all your celebrity clients that you would want our readers to know as well?
Confidence is key!!
Tell us what 3 products would be in your ultimate hair care arsenal--those items that your hair absolutely cannot thrive without.
I cannot live without: TANCHO STICK, Unite Hair 7 Seconds Leave-in Conditioner or LAST LOOKS HAIRSPRAY (by me).
