What is the mission or inspiration behind Nubian Heritage products?
Guided by the legacy of ancient Nubia, the world's first melting pot, we remix global healing traditions into modern wellness solutions. Ancient Nubia was once a center of cultural trade — a place where goods, ideas, and customs from across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean came together, influenced each other, and then spread across the ancient world. That’s the inspiration behind Nubian Heritage. We bring together traditional healing practices, cultural wisdom and indigenous ingredients, remix them, and share them with the world. This is our mission: to make cultural exchange the model for transforming the global community. We’re advancing wellness, the Nubian Heritage way.

What has been your best selling product to date?
Our best seller is our African Black Soap made from palm ash, tamarind extract, tar and plantain peel, which has been used on the continent of Africa for centuries to treat eczema, acne, oily skin, psoriasis, and other skin ailments.

Who is the Nubian Heritage customer?

Nubian Heritage customers are a savvy, diverse group of all ages who want wellness solutions, including healthier skin and hair care. They don't go for buzz ingredients, but value time-honored, quality natural and certified organic ingredients used in culturally authentic ways. Our community also cares deeply about eco-friendly practices, sustainability and ethical sourcing of raw materials. All of these important elements are part of Nubian Heritage's ongoing mission.

What role does social media play in your overall branding strategy?

Our community seeks out education and information about our indigenous ingredients, their benefits and history through our social media platforms. We enjoy interacting with our Nubian Heritage family daily to share news and product information, and celebrate healthy and eco-friendly living. Our community also helps us develop our products by sharing with us their unique hair and skin care needs. They're invaluable to us and an integral part of how we create and formulate our Nubian Heritage collections. Through social media, we can also share with our community the progress of our philanthropic and fair trade projects, such as working with women’s Shea Butter cooperatives in Northern Ghana, where we don't just buy their products — we help the members of the co-ops develop self-sustaining businesses.
