Free of parabens and phthalates, the line is rich in proteins, amino acids, vitamins, minerals and hormones. With the promise to rejuvenate your scalp and increase growth at the follicle while Chufa Milk, which is high in antioxidants, will moisturize, repair and protect your hair against harmful UV rays, this may very well be your hair’s holy grail.

Tell us the Beauty & Pin Ups story. How did the brand get its start?
Beauty & Pin-Ups was founded by celebrity hairstylist, Priel Maman. He had a vision based around the popularity of the pin-up. While the pin-up may have been a risqué symbol in the 30s and 40s, today it is a symbol of empowerment and reminder for women to feel confident in their own skin. With the popularity of the “selfie”, everyone has become a pin-up in their own right. Beauty & Pin-Ups celebrates these individuals – the sassy, fun-loving, shine-your-own light originals who own it inside and out.

We love, live and own what we do every day. We are hairstylists, designers and innovators passionate about creating beauty with a purpose. Our products are made with healthy, gentle ingredients that nourish hair without the use of sulfates, parabens or phthalates.

What ingredients or properties make your Luxe Leave-In Revitalizing Conditioner especially effective or unique?
Our Luxe Leave-In Spray On Revitalizing Conditioner uses Coconut and Chufa Milk. Coconut is used to rejuvenate the overall health of the scalp and increase growth beginning with the follicle. It also has soothing and anti-inflammatory properties that benefit the scalp to keep hair healthy from root to tip. Chufa Milk is derived from the Chufa, or Tigernut, and is high in antioxidants. It moisturizes, repairs, revitalizes and softens, all while protecting hair from UV damage.

Does your product work for woman with natural, relaxed and color treated hair?
Luxe is perfect for all three making it a perfect addition to any hair routine. Color treated hair needs protection from oxidation in all its forms, most importantly sun and water. Our special formulation stops oxidation and closes the cuticle on contact so that color doesn’t fade or lose its intensity when showering, swimming or in the hot sun. As for relaxed hair, the hair is “processed” to achieve a specific look and oxidation affects it in the same way. Luxe helps maintain the look of relaxed hair and nourish it back to optimum health.

Why does a woman need your product in her hair care routine?

It’s simple! It conditions, detangles, softens and protects hair from environmental abuse. It also controls frizz and has a UV protectant that keeps color from fading, and hair safe from the elements.

What's in the pipelines for the brand in 2016?
We just launched a product called Fearless Hair Rescue Treatment that is an amazing deep conditioning hair mask that rebuilds bonds broken from coloring, repairs split ends and revitalizes hair from damage done with heating implements. The launch of this product went viral overnight after People.com launched it. It has since reached over 2 billion impressions worldwide and has been featured by Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Teen Vogue, Elle, Popsugar, Refinery 29 and many more.

People.com initially covered the story because it’s the first beauty product to feature a woman with Down Syndrome on the packaging. The face of this product is Katie Meade – a Best Buddies International Ambassador and our friend. We couldn’t be more proud to partner with her and Best Buddies, an organization dedicated to supporting those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, to share Katie’s message that “beauty belongs to everyone.” In 2017, we are looking to add to the Fearless collection as well and create additional products for curly hair.
