How did Seed Phytonutrients get its start?
Seed Phytonutrients was launched as a mission-driven incubator brand within the L'Oréal group back in 2018, but just after our second year, we were purchased by our formulator who has a long history of crafting formulas in the natural beauty industry, and for Seed Phytonutrients since the very beginning.
What makes Seed Phytonutrients different from other brands that use natural botanicals?
Seed Phytonutrients powers all of its formulas with seed extracts, because seeds are where a plant’s nutrients are encased and protected from outside elements, seeds are highly concentrated in the nutrients that our hair and skin love — like fatty acids, antioxidants, phytosterols, and vitamins.
Your packaging is very unique. Talk to us about why you choose such unique materials?
We wanted our packaging to be as sustainable as possible, especially in regard to plastic, as we feel our planet is facing a plastic crisis. We created the first shower-friendly paper bottle (with only a thin recycled plastic liner inside) so that we could use 60-70% less plastic than a traditional bottle.
The products in the December Box all have common ingredients. Are there any special processes preformed on these ingredients before they are added to the products to keep its integrity?
We only use cold-press and expeller methods to extract oil from our seeds (as opposed to using chemical solvents.) These methods use mechanical pressure to release the oil, which takes more time and extracts less oil, but we feel it’s worth it to maintain the integrity of oils, and to ensure the highest level of purity. We return what’s left of the seeds back to our farmers to provide nutritious, organic feed for their animals.
What are the key ingredients in your Body Moisturizer?
The key ingredients in our Body Moisturizer are Sunflower Seed Oil, Camelina Seed Oil, and Shea Butter.
What are the benefits of these ingredients?
Sunflower Seed Oil contains linoleic acid, which helps skin to maintain its natural barrier and retain moisture. Camelina Seed Oil contains Vitamin E, which is an antioxidant that helps protect skin from a number of damaging elements. Shea butter also has high concentrations of fatty acids and vitamins, making it an incredible skin-softening ingredient.
Is this for all skin types?
Yes, our Body Moisturizer is great on all skin types, because it has a lightweight texture yet is richly moisturizing.
What can women expect after using?
Expect skin that feels deeply nourished (while still able to breathe,) feels incredibly soft to the touch, and smells alluringly, uniquely fresh.

You can expect wet hair to feel easy to comb through. Look for it to dry with more defined shape, soft, moisturized, and bouncy!
What ingredients did you use to prevent frizz?
Hair needs both sufficient moisture and anti-humidity protection in order to stand a chance against frizz! We use different combinations of ingredients like Jojoba Seed Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Shea Butter, Vegetable Glycerin, Soy Amino Acids, and Hydrolyzed Quinoa across our Anti-Frizz range to achieve this.
Is this for all hair types?
Our Anti-Frizz range is best for all frizz-prone hair, no matter the texture or curl pattern.
What’s the next step after cleansing and conditioning?
After cleansing and conditioning, apply our Anti-Frizz Smoothing Cream! We encourage trying it both on damp hair and on dry hair and comparing results— when applied on damp hair it will be less heavy once dried, but it can absolutely be applied on dry hair to add more softness, definition, and frizz control.
How often can the Anti-Frizz Smoothing Cream be used?
As often as hair is wet, and additionally on dry hair at any frequency needed (just apply sparingly at first, and build up the frequency of use slowly to avoid overdoing it! This cream is very rich in nourishing ingredients, so if too much is applied on dry hair, the result could be sticky and heavy)
