Heather Hopson: Journalist / Blogger, Diary of a First Time Mom

Not long ago, Heather Hopson hosted an award-winning television show in the Cayman Islands. Today, she's back home writing a different kind of story as a new mom at Diary of a First Time Mom. In her 15 years working as a professional journalist, this by far is her best assignment! In confessional, diary-like entries, Heather chronicles her life as a single, working mom. On Monday nights, you can find her on Twitter co-hosting the #MamasMashup Chat. Read on to find out what this busy mom keeps in her Ultimate Beauty Arsenal.

Makeup: MAC! When I worked in television, I would never leave the house naked--well, without makeup! I couldn't live without Studio Tech, which has great coverage and lots of moisture for those with dry skin. For my daily regimen, I use MAC's lighter, more natural mineralize line.

Skin care: Sunscreen! I am prone to sunspots, and although there's a myth about women of color not getting skin cancer or even wrinkles, brown beauties need sunscreen too! I like Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Sunblock SPF 55. When the sun's not shining, I still protect my skin with a cream like Clinique City Block, which protects against environmental damage.

Nails: Wow! I need to book a mani and pedi! I leave this to the professionals. I do rock a clear coat on my fingernails, since I am prone to chip my polish!

Fragrance:
When I packed a hospital bag to deliver my daughter, I wanted to make sure that I pampered myself post pushing! I tried out a new, light fragrance from Fresh called Brown Sugar. Very warm and sweet!

Beauty Indulgence: Sometimes first time moms pour all of their energy into their families, so refueling your mind, body and soul is a requirement! La Prairie at The Ritz-Carlton Spa was my ultimate escape when I lived in the Cayman Islands. Now, I recreate the treatments at home. I've learned not to have an all or nothing mentality. I can relax anywhere on earth!
