How did Olive Natural Skincare get its start?
Olive Natural Skincare was set up 20 years ago, to offer the most natural skincare products to the world. Our formulations are all unique (for instance not based on a common cream with ‘flavors’ added). They were developed by Olive’s own laboratory, to exacting standards. The formulations are certified natural – you don’t need to take our word, you can rely on the independent certifier NaTrue.
Where is Olive Natural Skincare made?
Olive’s laboratory, and manufacturing/packing facility, are situated within a large olive plantation …. We take naturalness to its fullest extent. The site is on the slopes of the Bombay Hills, an hour south of Auckland City, New Zealand.

Olive oil has been known for hundreds maybe thousands of years, not only for its internal healing qualities, but also for its skincare benefits. It is a natural, deep penetration moisturizer, which supports regenerating skin cells and softens the skin.
The key olive-based ingredient that we use is olive leaf extract. We also use small quantities of extra virgin olive oil. Both of these ingredients are rich in all kinds of nutrients, antioxidants, and vitamins which are great for the body – whether absorbed through the skin or eaten.
In particular olive leaf extract and olive oil are rich in polyphenols. Polyphenols are part of the group of compounds known as antioxidants, which neutralize oxidizing compounds in our bodies (often referred to as ‘free radicals’). These free radicals can otherwise harm cells and do other damage in the body, which contribute to disease and aging.

Firstly, that our Pomegranate Hand & Nail Cream is relatively fast absorbing – it doesn’t sit on the skin’s surface to be rubbed off. But, the main outcome from use is deep hydration of the skin, and therefore improved skin that feels soft and pliable and look smooth and radiant. Oh, and the scent is nice as well.
What are the benefits of Pomegranate?
Pomegranate is popular for its antioxidant properties, and is a very beneficial fruit, especially for the skin. Pomegranates are rich in essential fatty acids and antioxidant compounds such as Punic Acid. Such compounds are protective and help to maintain healthy looking skin. Pomegranate as an ingredient also especially provides soothing, hydrating relief for dry skin.

What’s next for Olive Natural Skincare?

Our formulations are all plant-based, and uniquely formulated for the specific end use or part of the body.
Next, we will add more products to the number of certified fully organic line, and also use of more organic ingredients. We are also testing a sub-range using manuka honey and oil extensively.
On the sustainability side, our eco-credentials are strong, but we will keep pushing. We will shortly gain our carbon neutral certification, and we are already water neutral (we use only water gathered on our site). We are currently negotiating so that all of our production energy comes from renewable sources, plus we have a project to install solar panels to cover some or all of our electricity needs.
