NYFW Blogger Beauty Faves

By Christene Carr

At COCOTIQUE, we are all about helping you to Discover Your Ultimate Beauty Arsenal. So, while others are checking out the designer duds sashaying down the runway at New York Fashion Week, we caught up with a few of our favorite Beauty Editors and Bloggers to get a peek into their beauty bags. We wanted to see the products that take them from backstage at the tents, to front of house, to style lounges and cocktail parties during crazy, fabulous New York Fashion Week.

My hands-down-can't-leave-the-house-without, especially in this weather, is L'occitane Hand Purifying Gel and Su-Kari Body Butter. As a makeup artist and New Yorker I have to ensure clean hands, and ones that don't succumb to ash and dryness from this cold, bitter weather we are having.

My makeup bag allows me to go from day to night with just one or two products: nude lip in the day, achieved with Ardency Inn Lip Pencil in Essex and MAC Cosmetics Huggable Lipstick in Commotion, which is moisturizing and has a 6-hour stay. Finally, after a long day, who doesn't shine just a little? With the new Make Up For Ever Pro Powder, I’m all set for the whole day through.

There are quite a few beauty items I can't live without in life--much less fashion week, but here are a few that I keep on deck for the chaotic glamour that is NYFW.

NYFW means long days and late nights and dabbing Kiehl's Midnight Recovery eye cream before bed helps me to look refreshed in the AM, despite how I feel.

I discovered Cover FX Mattifying Primer through COCOTIQUE and I love it! It makes a clear difference in how my makeup wears throughout the day.

Make Up For Ever HD powder keeps the shine at bay; my face just isn't finished without it.

I use Maybelline Eyeshadow Quad in ‘Copper Chic’ on my cheekbones and my eyelids. It's my bronzer, and my blush. I love it. It's my multi-purpose palette--great for touch ups on the go.

Maybelline Gel Eye Liner Pot - A cat eye is to me what mascara is to most, and I love that I can grab this and the palette at any time at a convenient store.

And of course, I live for a great lippie. There's my go-to signature red color, Stila Fiery, and my new fave, Nars Train Bleu. I love mixing the two together for a unique color all my own.

In general, I keep it simple. It’s no different during Fashion Week.

Clinique All About Eyes Serum - Lack of sleep and puffy eyes are unavoidable during NYFW; this serum de-puffs and massages away signs of weariness.

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse - Stress can take its toll on skin; I use this mousse foundation to cover up flaws and achieve an even face canvas.

NIVEA A Kiss of Cherry Lip Balm – Winter can be incredibly harsh on the lips; keeping them moisturized and SPF 10 protected is essential. I'm a huge fan of Nivea products.

Maybelline Red Revival Lipstick - My go-to red lip color; it complements everyone and can really brighten up the face, even during the dead of winter.

Boscia Green Tea Blotting Sheets - As someone who suffers from very oily skin, these complexion savers are a great way to blot away excess oil without messing up your makeup.

This season, I am trying my best to keep it simple but a girl's got to be prepared for every possible beauty moment. I'm starting out with the Estee Lauder Derek Lam Collection....all tucked away in a chic navy clutch. It includes a mini blue-black Kajal Crayon (Near Night), mascara, a shimmery ombre shadow to give my tired eyes life, a nude gloss, and a sheer shimmery gloss to amp up my pout . These are my staples but for drama, I'm also throwing in my new favorite matte lip pencils, OCC NSFW and Black Dahlia. Girl, bye...these are the only dramatic lippies you need this season. Trust!

For cheeks, I'm currently hopelessly devoted to Tarte cheek stain, "flush". The way this lifts and brightens my face is just magical. Lastly, because I am mom to 5-month old Phoebe, I am nothing without a kick ass under eye concealer. It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer ‘spackles’ these dark circles like a champ...and the Hello Light Brightener end adds a touch of luminosity.
